Rachel Schwartz & Jesse Houck
Our Story
Rachel Says...
Jesse and I met at LSAT class in October of 2007. He was shy, but being the best looking guy in class, I figured I he probably would want to be my friend....
While at first, neither of us were looking for anything serious, we quickly found our curiosity to try and learn new things drew us together. He taught me to cook, we completed a half marathon, I introduced him to Indian food, we explored the nooks and crannies of Seattle, we learned to snowshoe and backcountry ski together, we have gone on endless hikes and day trip adventures, we downhill ski together, we camp and backpack together, we have done some traveling together, do yoga together and remodeled our home together (well not all of it but we have completed some pretty big projects - if I do say so myself)...
Over the years we have turned into a great team and while we aren't always interested in all the persuits of the other person, we encourage each other to continue to explore new territory and share it. Our personalities are very different but as cliche as it sounds we balance each other.
Over these past five years we have truly built a home together... which means there is very little that we need in terms of basics objects, so we were hoping if you do feel the need to give us a gift, it could be to help us go on the trip of a lifetime to Spain. Jesse and I both speak fluent Spanish, but we have never traveled anywhere together to use it and I can't wait to see him in action... and show off some of my own skills.
We don't have the itenerary exactly worked out at all, but we will update this page as we work out the details.
Jesse Says...
One thing Rachel neglected to mention was our love of animals. We have two wonderful cat-sons, Moony and Louis. They are indeed amazing little creatures who, day after day, continue to bring much joy into our lives. We adopted them from a local shelter, and while we wish could adopt more, Moony is a bit of a pill now and he doesn't take too well to other cats. But he does okay with dogs, so in the future, we hope to add a dog to the family. So, if you're like Rachel, you are probably wondering why I decided to share this here: mainly because we'll need to have some one cat sit while we're away.
"The rain in Spain, falls mainly on the plain." And so with that, I can't wait to explore a new place with my favoritest person.
Also, I promise that for every gift given, you will receive a photo from our trip to commemorate your generosity (e.g. if you give us a gift of dinner, we'll send you a picture of us at dinner!).
